5mm borosilicate glass chain – clear and frosted links

A beautiful statement necklace which will look as good with jeans and a t-shirt as with your most dressed up clothes.

Made from borosilicate glass each link is individually crafted and joined to create a chain. The finished necklace moves beautifully when it’s worn. The glass rods used to create this necklace are clear 5mm rods, allowing for a delicate look. Glass is light – this necklace weighs 100 grams. If you’d like something a little more delicate our chains made with 4mm glass rod could be perfect.

This necklace is made by alternating clear and frosted links. The frosted links are made first, then joined with clear glass links.  The frosted finish is created by tumbling the glass chain with sand and grit – this creates a finish similar to sea glass and it feels silky smooth to touch.

Borosilicate glass is hard wearing and durable – it’s very similar to the original material used in pyrex dishes that have been a kitchen staple for many years. To ensure strength and durability all of our lampwork items are annealed in a  digitally controlled kiln. This allows any stress introduced during the melting and shaping of the glass to be removed. We understand that accidents do happen – and in the unlikely event that your necklace is damaged we offer free repairs – we’ll just ask you to cover postage costs.

This necklace is made from 32 clear glass links. Each link is approximately 22mm wide and 30mm long (7/8 in by 1 1/4 in), and the whole necklace is 66cm / 26 in in diameter.

Your necklace will be securely packed in an oak wood gift box. Boxes measure 9cm x 9 cm x 5.5cm ( 3 1/2in x 3 1/2in / 2 1/4in).

We use felt and bubble wrap to ensure everything is secure for posting (and we always have bubble wrap because the glass rods are wrapped in it when they come to us)

We work from a studio in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. All items are ready to post. Chain necklaces will be sent with tracked and signed for delivery using Royal Mail guaranteed by 1pm service in the UK and tracked and signed post on international orders.
